Why You Should Include Both Synthetic And Natural Products For Proper Skin Care

by Gregg Hall

Some people are under the misconception that skin care products made from natural sources cannot harm their skin. Believe it or not, there is such as thing as unsuitable natural skin care products, just as there are synthetic products that are not healthy. Both kinds can harm you in basically the same way.

Your choice of products for carinf for your skin should be based on the skin type of the person who will use that product. Do you have dry skin, oily, normal, or sensitive? Also, climactic conditions need to be taken into account. For example, hot and humid conditions would warrant using oil free products. Finally, you need to consider the process of applying the skin care product. It will not do you any good to get a high quality product, natural or synthetic, if you do not apply it properly.

The above factors need to be addressed whether or not the product you use is synthetic or natural. Also, keep in mind that there may not be a natural skin care product available for the treatment of a particular skin disorder. In fact, it is quite difficult to find natural products that do not have synthetic preservatives. The ones that do have a percentage of synthetic preservatives have a better shelf life and thus are more acceptable to manufacturers of natural products.

Yes, it is possible to find and even make your own one hundred percent natural skin care products. The ones you find on the market will be more expensive and will have a relatively short shelf life compared to the natural products that use synthetic preservatives. The type of products you make yourself may or may not deliver the results you want, depending on your experience in making them. Recipes are available on the Internet and in bookstores as well. There are essential herbs, oils, organic fruits and vegetables that have moisturizing and antiseptic properties, but it is very important for you to be educated about these natural substances before using them.

Just because you use non synthetic products does not mean that you can be lax on the other necessary elements of daily maintenance. Healthy eating habits, regular exercise, drinking eight glasses of water a day, and cleansing, along with using your skin care products properly, is a complete daily routine that will ensure you have beautiful skin for a long time.

And the truth is, even if you follow the above regimen faithfully, there still may be situations where you will need to use synthetic products. In any case, be wise, and investigate your options carefully.

Things You Need To Consider To Know How To Choose The Right Skin Care Lotion

by Gregg Hall

There are tons of different lotions available at your local grocery and retail stores. You can find a product for almost any skin condition: Dry skin, oily skin, red skin, and pimply skin. Over the last few years, there have been hundreds of studies and research conducted on various skin care products. This on slot of research has provided a wealth of products to the skin care market. It is difficult to weed through all the products and decide which one is best suited for you.

The most popular types of skin care moisturizers are the non greasy types. Most people do not enjoy rubbing a lotion on their skin to get rid of cracks and uncomfortable dryness, just to have greasy skin in return. Another highly used moisturizer is the skin cream instead of the lotion. Skin creams are thicker and easier to put on, yet they are not heavy or have that grease feeling.

For facial products, a creamy lotion like cleanser is usually used and followed by a lighter toner. The creamy cleanser should be specific to your skin type so be sure to read the label closely. If you have areas of your skin that get greasy while other areas are dry or normal, then your skin is considered a combination type. If your skin is almost always greasy, your skin would be considered oily. If it is always dry, your skin would be considered dry. Buying the correct cleanser is important to maintaining the balance of your skin. Toner does not always come in various types, but since a moisturizer follows it, you will usually not notice any difference in products.

Facial moisturizers are much different than body moisturizers. When choosing a facial moisturizer, you need to account for your skin type and also make sure the product contains an SPF. Usually you want sun protection of at least SPF 15. By applying this type of moisturizer on a daily basis you can help prevent sun damage to your skin.

Other specialized skin products, which are also available, include special eye creams that help to reduce the signs of aging in the eye area. Special ant aging moisturizers are also available to purchase, but you still want to make sure you match your skin type and it includes an SPF of at least 15.

If you take your time and do some basic research, you will be able to find the best lotion or cream for your skin type. It is not necessary to purchase the most expensive products, just make sure they are high quality products that fit your skin care needs.
